What Our Clients Are Saying

We had 5 basalt columns surrounded by rock installed in an old basin from a prior fountain and the price/quality of work from Purely Ponds was amazing. Chris and his team did the job in 2 days and we could not be happier. They are kind, reasonable and highly recommended. We called many places in the area and Purely ponds is hands down the place to go if you are wanting a water feature in Colorado Springs.

Five Fountains HOA

Chris has the vision, creativity and expertise needed to create masterpiece water features. We had to wait patiently for our turn, but once he and his crew started, they were done in less than a week. We are delighted with the result and enjoy coffee or lunch or a glass of wine on our deck where we can enjoy the sights and sounds of our water feature. Highly recommended!!!

Chris is a master artist! I never expected to see such a beautiful pond on my property. Chris came out to see what may be possible and with in minutes I knew he was the man for the job. His artistry with stone and water produced a magnificent pond and falls. I have spent hours admiring his work, the sound and the appearance. Each time I step out to the pond I find something else to enjoy, a small fish cave or special rock placement above the water that is interesting.

What’s Included

Winter leaves behind buildup—leaves, pine needles, sediment, and organic debris that can clog intakes, restrict flow, and reduce performance. A spring cleanout resets the system so your water feature starts the season clean, reliable, and enjoyable.

Our Premium Spring Cleanout Package includes:

  • Check for low-edge leaks and perform minor repairs
  • Trim and tend plantings (as applicable)
  • Drain pond or pondless basin and remove large debris
  • Clean pump, skimmer, Biofalls, and filter pads
  • Power wash rocks and rinse down the feature
  • Begin refilling with fresh water
  • Check light bulbs and lighting position
  • Share seasonal care recommendations

DIY option: If you prefer to self-clean your water feature, we recommend a basic cleanout regularly to protect equipment and maintain flow.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s included in a Spring Cleanout?

A Spring Cleanout is a full seasonal reset to restore flow and performance after winter. It typically includes debris removal, cleaning key components (pump, skimmer, Biofalls/filter pads), rinsing/power washing rock areas as needed, refilling, basic leak/edge checks, and seasonal care recommendations.

How do I know if my pond or pondless feature needs a cleanout?

Common signs include reduced water flow, a noisy pump, frequent clogs, cloudy or smelly water, visible debris buildup, or the feature just “not running right” after winter. If leaves/pine needles have accumulated in the basin, skimmer, or intake area, a cleanout is usually the fastest fix.

Do pondless waterfalls need Spring Cleanouts too?

Yes. Pondless basins still collect organic debris, sediment, and leaves in the reservoir and pump vault. Over time that buildup can restrict flow and strain the pump. A cleanout clears the basin and intake so the waterfall runs strong again.

When should I schedule a Spring Cleanout?

Schedule once freezing nights are mostly behind us and you’re ready to run the feature consistently for the season. Spring is the busiest time for cleanouts, so earlier scheduling helps you get on the calendar before peak weeks fill up.
