What Our Clients Are Saying

We had 5 basalt columns surrounded by rock installed in an old basin from a prior fountain and the price/quality of work from Purely Ponds was amazing. Chris and his team did the job in 2 days and we could not be happier. They are kind, reasonable and highly recommended. We called many places in the area and Purely ponds is hands down the place to go if you are wanting a water feature in Colorado Springs.

Five Fountains HOA

Chris has the vision, creativity and expertise needed to create masterpiece water features. We had to wait patiently for our turn, but once he and his crew started, they were done in less than a week. We are delighted with the result and enjoy coffee or lunch or a glass of wine on our deck where we can enjoy the sights and sounds of our water feature. Highly recommended!!!

Chris is a master artist! I never expected to see such a beautiful pond on my property. Chris came out to see what may be possible and with in minutes I knew he was the man for the job. His artistry with stone and water produced a magnificent pond and falls. I have spent hours admiring his work, the sound and the appearance. Each time I step out to the pond I find something else to enjoy, a small fish cave or special rock placement above the water that is interesting.

What’s Included

When a water feature isn’t running right, it usually comes down to a few common issues: a dropping water level, reduced flow, a pump problem, or lighting that stopped working. Purely Ponds & Waterfalls can assist in diagnosing the issue and restoring your feature to proper operation.

Leak and low-water diagnostics

If your water level is dropping or you suspect a leak, we start with the most common causes first:

  • Low edges (where water escapes without you noticing)
  • Plumbing connections and fittings
  • Waterfall diversions and splash-out
  • Then we move deeper into the system if needed

Pump and circulation issues

If the pump stopped working or sounds unusual, we can:

  • Check power and operation
  • Clear clogs and intake obstructions
  • Diagnose wear or failure
  • Replace the pump when needed

Lighting repairs and upgrades

If underwater or landscape lighting stopped working, we can:

  • Check power and connections
  • Replace bulbs or fixtures
  • Install new LED lighting when appropriate

Performance scan + care consultation

Sometimes nothing is “broken”—it just isn’t running optimally. We can scan the system for performance issues and provide practical care recommendations.

Important note: We’ll do everything we can to diagnose and repair the issue, but there is never a guarantee the problem can be fully resolved. Leak diagnostics in particular may require more than one visit depending on complexity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my water level dropping—does that always mean a leak?

Not always. Water loss can come from evaporation, wind, and splash-out—especially around waterfalls. We start by checking the most common causes like low edges and diversions, then move into plumbing and system components if the loss suggests a true leak.

What are “low edges,” and why do they cause leaks?

A low edge is a spot where the water’s perimeter sits lower than intended, allowing water to escape into surrounding soil or rockwork. It’s one of the most common causes of “mystery water loss,” and it can be surprisingly hard to spot without a methodical inspection.

My pump is loud or stopped working—what happens next?

We’ll check power, inspect the intake for clogs, verify flow, and test operation. If the pump is failing or undersized for the feature, we can recommend a replacement and install it so circulation and performance return to normal.

Can you guarantee you’ll find and fix my leak in one visit?

No—leak diagnostics can be complex, and some issues require multiple service calls to isolate and resolve. We’ll work through the most common causes first and communicate clearly about what we’re finding and what the next steps are.
